Aviral Gupta, backend-first full-stack developer.
I build production software where the backend, data and integrations have to work reliably. I have nine years of experience, most recently as Senior Developer at Thrifty Car Rental UAE, where I designed six Node.js microservices replacing Dollar UAE's .NET backend and wrote the bulk of it, migrated Thrifty UAE's PHP/Laravel monolith to Next.js without losing a ranking, and built Cariva from an empty repository.
I am strongest in the parts of a system that sit between the UI and production: APIs, data flows, services, queues, payments, integrations and the architecture that keeps them reliable. My experience includes Mercedes-Benz R&D India, a Google client engagement at Grid Dynamics and building large web platforms in the UAE. I am currently available for permanent senior engineering roles, focused on scaling production backend platforms and Next.js systems.

Thrifty Car Rental UAE
Senior Developer
Ran the web platforms for Dollar, Thrifty and Cariva in a team of five under the Head of E-commerce. Also set and reviewed the work of an outside development agency of five people. Designed the six Node.js microservices that replaced Dollar's .NET backend and wrote the bulk of it, migrated Thrifty's PHP Laravel monolith to Next.js with no ranking loss, built Cariva from scratch, and owned technical SEO across the 858 pages now live.

What am I looking for?
An internal engineering organisation where I can take long-term ownership of backend infrastructure, data layers and performance gates. I am particularly interested in Node.js, TypeScript, React and Next.js systems, from backend architecture through production delivery.
For a hiring team, that means a senior engineer with hands-on architecture and production experience: someone who owns the services, the data model and the performance budget in production, rather than only the ticket in front of them.

Evidence over opinion
I prefer evidence over assumptions: tests, measurements, logs and working software. When something matters, I want a way to verify it.
Honesty over upsell
I would rather recommend the smaller fix than sell unnecessary work. The goal is to solve the engineering problem, not maximise the scope.
Ownership over hand-offs
One person from scope to deployment. Decisions, implementation and handover stay connected instead of being passed between sales, consultants and developers.
Compliance by default
Consent Mode v2, GDPR and UAE PDPL alignment are part of the definition of done, not an add-on.
